Project Overview
Working in partnership with main contractor Eamon Costello (Kerry) Ltd, our team successfully delivered a comprehensive mechanical, plumbing, and sustainable heating package for Slí Chluain Bheag, a high-profile urban in-fill housing scheme in Tralee.
The contract required a highly efficient, multi-tiered renewable specification across three distinct building blocks (18 apartments and 1 detached bungalow). We managed the precise deployment of distinct heating technologies—ranging from traditional Air-to-Water heat pumps to advanced Exhaust Air Heat Pumps (EAHP)—to meet strict Part L building regulations and maximise energy efficiency for every layout.
Our Detailed Scope of Work
Advanced Renewable Heating & Hot Water Systems
Hybrid Renewable Strategy
Supplied, installed and commissioned a hybrid renewable energy strategy across all 19 units in accordance with the mechanical engineering specifications.
Detached Bungalow (No. 1)
Installed a high-performance 4kW Hisense Air-to-Water heat pump paired with a dedicated Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) unit for climate and indoor air quality management.
Block A Apartments (A11, A13, A14, A17 & A18)
Supplied and fitted 4kW Hisense Air-to-Water heat pumps alongside integrated MEV units to service these specific layouts.
Block A & B Exhaust Air Heat Pumps
Deployed 3.5kW Exhaust Air Heat Pumps (EAHP) across 13 apartments: A10, A12, A15, A16, A19 and B2–B9. These compact units serve as both the ventilation extract system and the primary heating and hot water source by recovering heat from each apartment’s exhaust air.
Full Domestic Water & Wastewater Services
Pipework Infrastructure
Supplied and installed all primary Mains Water Services (MWS), hot and cold water distribution pipework, and complete sub-floor and internal structural plumbing.
Drainage Engineering
Formed all soil, waste and wastewater ventilation systems, integrating multi-storey apartment drainage stacks cleanly within the traditional masonry structure.
Sanitary Ware & Fit-Out
First & Second Fix Plumbing
Executed the complete installation and pressure-testing of all high-quality bathroom sanitary ware across all 19 units.
Accessibility Plumbing
Completed specialised sanitary ware fit-outs within the detached bungalow to comply with local authority universal accessibility guidelines.
Kitchen Services
Plumbed and connected multi-point kitchen sinks, mixing valves, and utility waste and supply lines for washing machines.
